Presented during ‘Made of Commas not Dots’, a group exhibition that aimed to be a space for contemplation and rest. ‘Warping in Space (2)’ was a performance/ installation in which I took materials from the surroundings and transformed them into a make-shift loom. Inspired by the name of the venue, I sourced bamboo sticks from a building site near my house and cut them to size on location. The warp for the weave was also made on location using chairs and bricks. The way the ‘loom’ was built was to emphasise the basis of weaving; tension. The counterbalance for my own weight were blocks used on construction sites and during the weaving they would balance in the air. I spent hours at the venue weaving the warp by hand.
